Up Catalina Highway, at milepost 19.5, is the Palisades Visitor Center. 

You'll find books, maps, trail guides, and campground information. Questions about trail conditions, wildflower status, recent wildlife sightings and bird watching can all be answered here. You'll find more information about Palisades Visitor Center here, including current hours of operation.

Further up the road, about milepost 25, you'll find Summerhaven. Locals flock to the cool, mountain air in the middle of Tucson's scorching summers, and Ski Valley in the winter when snows visit the local mountains. Summerhaven, a charming village at the end of the road, offers a stopping off point before or after a day on the mountain.
